Community guidelines

This is primarily a place to discuss and talk about the games in The Longest Journey saga, and the values of our community reflect that. Our community is progressive, inclusive and diverse. We welcome thoughtful and reasoned reflection and discussion on all general topics, also the big and important ones. In order to have a safe community where it is possible to discuss these difficult and sometimes deeply personal issues, we require everyone to be respectful and considerate towards each other, even when disagreeing. Remember that there are many demographics represented here. If you are discussing anything related to the human condition there is a good chance someone who is personally affected will read what you write.

Below is an incomplete list of things that are NOT in line with our values:
  • Hate speech
  • Racism, sexism, intolerance towards other people’s sexuality or gender identity
  • Personal attacks
  • Grossly inconsiderate behaviour
  • Trolling
  • Spamming
Depending on intentions, severity and recurrence, moderators will respond to violations with verbal warnings, cumulative warning points, and temporary or permanent bans. They may lock or delete threads that are in violation of the guidelines or otherwise deemed thoroughly unproductive. The moderators will have discretion in enforcing these guidelines, including calling out bad behaviour that's not specifically listed. Moderators have final say. To avoid any confusion moderators will make it clear when they are acting in official capacity with reprimands, warnings, and interventions in threads, rather than just participating in the discussion.

If you feel a post is in violation of the community guidelines, please use the report button to bring it to the attention of the moderators. They will evaluate the post and take whatever action may be required.

Moderators will also perform bookkeeping tasks, such as moving, merging, marking, and splitting of threads to facilitate good discussion. These actions are not punitive in any way.
